Today, we enter a new era into the dumbing down of an already dumbed-down America. LGBTQ+ books being read to your children was the least of your problems. Prepare for the indoctrination of your children into a new regime of authoritarian government propaganda, starting with the Christian Nationalist Trump Bible in combination with the banning of certain books and trickling into all aspects of your life. First banning, then burning, to whitewash history in preparation for the new regime. Let the real grooming begin.

The funny thing is I get most angry about what I just don’t understand. I just don’t understand how people value education so little that they would jeopardize the entire community through their own willful ignorance.

I just don’t understand how women or family members and friends of women that have been victims of sexual abuse or misconduct, miscarriage, rape or an unplanned pregnancy into an abusive family can vote against their own self interest or the self interests of their loved ones.

I just don’t understand how family members or friends can say to your face that they love and accept you for who you are but would vote for a candidate that aims to take away the rights of the entire LGBTQ+ community, championing homophobes everywhere to do their worst, literally placing the lives of an entire community in lethal danger.

I just don’t understand how struggling felons are rarely ever afforded the same opportunities as even the average working class citizen and yet a convict with 34 felonies is championed as the savior of the people.

I just don’t understand how a nation built on the stolen land of Native Americans, on the backs of immigrants, can have so much animosity towards illegal migration that they would forcibly separate families and crash our entire economy in the process.

I just don’t understand the hypocrisy of Christian voters who continue to overlook Trump’s complete disregard for all human life, his divisive rhetoric, racist remarks, misogynistic comments, homophobic agenda, his administration’s plot to cut funding from important government programs that greatly benefit the elderly, veterans, and the disabled; and not to mention his complete mishandling of Covid 19 including the spread of misinformation causing the deaths of thousands of Americans.

I step back unable to recognize the world I am looking at, dumbfounded by what I see, because I just don’t understand.
